Hope you all had a great weekend!

*Thank you to our families who have sent in all of the important paperwork this past week (School supplies, verification forms, walking permission form, Aboriginal Education permission forms etc.)  Mrs. Shantz and Ms. Girodat's classes are the lucky pizza party winners for getting all of their forms in!  If you are a family that struggles financially, please call Mrs. Gorman at the school to arrange a payment plan over the course of the year.  We can help with this.

*Parkcrest Elementary has been chosen as a Chapters Indigo School for the month!  Thank you to Mrs. Hofmann and Mrs. Bond for signing us up!  You can either donate or submit a story (Parkcrest will get 1 book for each story). Click on this will take you to Parkcrest page. Thanks again!!!

*Parents please see the attached advertisement for the Raising Digitally Responsible Citizens Workshop at the Henry Grube Center on Wednesday,  Sept. 26 at 6:30 pm.

*We will be hosting the Mother Goose programming for toddlers on Wednesday evenings, October 10 - November 28th, from 6-7pm. Please sign up at .  Registrations do not come through the school.

    • Raise a Reader Day!  We would love to have donations given to us in return for a newspaper.  This program supports many literacy programs in Kamloops, including Come Read with Me that is offered to Grade 1 parents on Oct. 30!

    • Terry Fox Run: Please send a Twoonie for Terry!  We are hoping to raise $500.00 for this amazing cause!  Students will be running in the community just after 11:00 am so please be aware of them if you are out and about!

    • Orange Shirt Day: Please send your child wearing something orange.  We will be recognizing this day and Phyllis Webstad's story of having her orange shirt taken away upon entry into a residential school.  We want so support the pathways to reconciliation and hope for our Aboriginal families and students.

    Crossing Guard
by Parkcrest Elementary - Wednesday, 5 September 2018, 8:31 PM

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Hugh Daykin, a retired police officer and a former SD#73 bus driver, who has volunteered to be our crossing guard in the morning and afternoon every day for our students. Mr. Daykin will be at our crosswalk around 8:15 in the morning and at 2:30 to support our students to cross Parkcrest Ave. safely! Thank you! Parents please support us in having your children wait for him to stop traffic at the crosswalk before proceeding ahead.
