Hope you had a great weekend.  The snow fell last week and we had an amazing show of respect and responsibility from our students in taking off their boots at the doors!  Also, very little concerns regarding behaviour regarding snow outside.  We are proud of all of our students.

    Basketball

Notices and permission forms came home this week for our intermediate students that are wishing to be on one of our school teams.  Please send those in as soon as possible.  We would like to thank our two parent coaches: Mr. Cruz and Mr. Wilson. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Naylor at the school.  The season will be starting the week of Jan. 21.

    RHL (Ravens Hockey League)

Thank you to Mr. Roszmann for organizing this for our students. There are games 4 days a week (every lunch hour) and we have multiple teams that play in a round robin type schedule.  The Eduskaters (staff team) played on Thursday and won 7-0!  New goalie pads coming soon!

    Weekly Update Jan 7-11, 2019!
by Parkcrest Elementary - Saturday, 5 January 2019, 4:06 PM

Welcome back!  We hope that our Parkcrest families had a wonderful holiday!

    A few items of note:

*Mrs. Huffman's class is promoting a Litterless Lunch challenge for all classes for the month of January.  Any amount of waste that can be reduced is excellent.  Thank you to these Grade 4/5 students for working hard to help our environment.

*Kindergarten Registration!  It's almost here!  Feb. 11-15 will be registration dates for our Kindergarten students for the 2019-2020 school year.  Please bring your child's birth certificate, care card, and proof of address to the school for registration.  More information will be emailed out this month to all families.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the school.

*Snowfalls:  Please ensure that your child comes back to school with appropriate clothing this week.  We expect students to take their boots off at the door they come in, place their boots in their locker or on the boot racks and put on their inside shoes.  This significantly helps with keeping our hallways safe and clean.  Also, for safe play, we do not allow students to throw snow at anytime.

*Afterschool program:  We will continue to have afterschool programming for intermediate students on Monday and Wednesdays.  More information to come home this week as the organizer will be coming to present to intermediate classes on Wednesday.  Dates and times to be determined.  This is first come, first in so please hand in permission forms in a timely manner.
