*Thank you to all of the Parkcrest families and students who helped us raise $310.70 at our school dances for the Kamloops YMCA/YWCA! We will be announcing the families who won the family passes before Spring Break :)
*As our basketball seasons are winding up we would like to thank the coaches for their many hours of time spent working with our girls and boys teams! Thank you Vaughn Willson, David Cruz, Dean Shaffi, Tyler Armstrong and Mr. Roszmann. Also a huge thank you to Mr. Naylor for his excellent reffing skills for most of the games. We wish our girls team luck this week in their playoff game on Tuesday!
*Thank you to the Grade 3 families in Mrs. Ellingsen's and Mrs. Trestain's class for coming to their Presentation of Learning evening at Brock Middle school on March 1. What an amazing display of talent, knowledge and enthusiasm!
*Young Artists participants (students in grades 4-6) need to have their artwork and artist statement to Mrs. Stokes by Wednesday!
*Gr. 4-6 students who are swimmers this is for you!! We are hoping to enter a Parkcrest Elementary team into the SD73 ELEMENTARY SWIM MEET April 18. Please talk to your child if they would like to participate so when a meeting is called you have already discussed this opportunity with them. We would like to thank Mrs. Hofman for organizing this for our students :)
*PBIS goals! Our Positive Behaviour Intervention System at Parkcrest is in full swing! Our students are SOARing (Safe, Organized, Accountable and Respectful). We have been working on how to enter the school quietly and calmly after recess and lunch....students worked so well at this that they earned an extra recess last week! Our new goal is showing expected behaviours while eating lunch in their classrooms. Students earned 531 tokens last week!
*Our Aboriginal Education Worker, Ms. Christina Boyer is inviting all parents who can bring, send, or loan any hand drums to our students for practising drumming to please do so! The purpose of this activity is to learn the traditional meaning of drumming, learn beats & sing traditional songs, gather in circle & respect a circle and listen with mind, body, heart and soul! Sessions are for Grade 3-6 students and they are practicing weekly on Thursdays at 12:20. Any interested parents are welcome to join as well! Please call Ms.Boyer at the school if you would like to come.
