Athletics

Welcome to Parkcrest Raven's Athletics Page

We would like to share our goals for the program and emphasize the values we want to instill in our young student-athletes.

First and foremost, participation is key. Every child should feel welcomed and encouraged to join, regardless of their skill level. We aim to create an inclusive environment where every athlete can experience the joy of teamwork and sportsmanship. By promoting participation, we help all kids develop a love for sports that can last a lifetime.

In addition to participation, teaching leadership and perseverance is crucial. Sports provide a unique platform for children to learn how to lead by example and support their teammates. We can cultivate resilience by encouraging them to embrace challenges and learn from setbacks, reinforcing the idea that effort and determination are just as important as victory.

Respect should be at the core of everything we do. This means fostering respect not only for coaches and officials but also for teammates and opponents. By modelling and teaching respect, we can help our young athletes develop strong character, which will benefit them both on and off the field.

Lastly, let's ensure that every child has the opportunity to have fun and learn essential skills. Our practices and games should focus on skill development, cooperation, and enjoyment rather than solely on competition. By providing a positive and engaging experience, we can nurture a lifelong appreciation for physical activity.

Together, we can create an environment that emphasizes these values and helps our young athletes grow into respectful, resilient, and well-rounded individuals. I am excited to collaborate with all of you to make this season a memorable one for our students.
